My son has been attending guitar lessons at Brooklyn Melodies Music Center for the past 10 years. He started at the age of 6 learning to play on a child size classical guitar. Ten years later he is still going strong and not only completed up to Grade 5 on Classical but has been playing the electric guitar for 4 years, and currently doing his Grade 4 Rock School Exams. I have seen him progress from the obligatory practicing “Ode to Joy” to playing, composing and performing Metallica and Green Day . He has had the same guitar teacher for the past 6 years, who is not only fantastic with him, but motivates, encourages and works him hard to achieve excellent results. Having the music school in our neighborhood also makes it very easy to get to lessons with a teenager who has a jam-packed itinerary. (mother of future rock star)
